Sarah Treuhaft is an urban policy researcher and advocate who develops data tools, policy ideas, and narrative frameworks that help build community power and advance movements for racial and economic justice. Sarah develops partnerships with local leaders and policymakers to translate the research of the Institute for Race, Power and Politics into transformative policy changes and leads projects related to equitable public investment, guaranteed income, and guaranteed jobs. Prior to joining the Institute, Sarah was the Vice President of Research at PolicyLink, where she led the National Equity Atlas research partnership with the USC Equity Research Institute. Her research has been widely cited by local and national media outlets and policy-making bodies, and she has written for publications including The New York Times, Cityscape, Health Affairs, and Inequality.org. She holds master’s degrees in city planning and international and area studies from the University of California, Berkeley and was a Peace Corps volunteer in Togo, West Africa.
