Max is a postdoctoral scholar in the Center on Poverty and Inequality. Before that, Max received a PhD in economics at Stanford. Max works on topics in labor economics and household finance, including the interaction of gender and labor markets, as well as major life course decisions like occupational choice, retirement, and marriage. At CPI, Max is working on a project evaluating the effects of California's state-funded guaranteed Income pilots on health and financial outcomes for participants.
