Dr. Francisco Pedraza holds a PhD in political science from the University of Washington and is an assistant professor of political science at Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas. In the summer of 2012 he began a two-year fellowship at the University of Michigan as part of the Robert Wood Johnson Scholars in Health Policy Research Program.
His research focuses on political integration of marginalized communities in the United States, with an emphasis on minority groups and immigrants. Among his current projects is a large scale study of Latino public opinion of the U.S. Supreme Court, and the impact specific cases have on perceptions of American political institutions and civic engagement. His work has appeared in many academic venues including Armed Forces and Society, Electoral Studies, and Latino Studies. Pedraza has extensive experience with bilingual survey instrument design, quantitative methods, and precinct analysis.
