Introducing Our Equal Opportunity Plan

The Center on Poverty and Inequality has unveiled a new plan to reduce poverty in California permanently. The Equal Opportunity Plan identifies the junctures at which poor children and adults are provided substandard opportunities and then offers solutions to level the playing field. The plan includes both a stop-gap approach and a long-term solution to poverty in California, which has the highest poverty rate in the country at 23.4 percent, when measured with the Supplemental Poverty Measure.
