The CPI lab meeting is a cross-disciplinary workshop-format meeting for members of the Stanford research community, held weekly at CPI's offices at 30 Alta Road, focused on current CPI-sponsored research projects. We discuss new inequality- and poverty-reducing interventions, new ways of measuring and monitoring poverty and inequality, and new ways to evaluate poverty- and inequality-reducing programs while critiquing and improving ongoing research projects at the Center. The lab meeting feastures a variety of types of presentations by CPI research staff, students, postdocs, faculty, and guest speakers, with a common theme of highlighting a key data, analysis, or framing question with which we are currently grappling, for active discussion by workshop participants.
Stanford graduate and undergraduate students, predocs and postdocs, and other Stanford affiliates with interests in inequality, poverty, and related research and policy interventions are invited to attend. Formal course enrollment is not required, but students may receive course credit for participation by enrolling in SOC 340L.
