Lauren Speeth, PhD, is the Founding CEO of The Elfenworks Foundation and President of Elfenworks Productions LLC. As an External Advisor for the Stanford Center on Poverty and Inequality, she was an architect/programmer of the Center’s first website, co-orchestrating the Center’s launch with a Concert for Hope, which she also filmed. As a filmmaker, her works have spanned from Celtic-green to eco-green. She is deeply concerned regarding the intersection of climate change and poverty and inequality issues, and has dedicated her educational media / storytelling efforts to fostering hope. A classically trained violinist, Speeth is a proud member emeritus of The Peninsula Symphony's First Violin section and a voting member of The Recording Academy. She is also a Lifetime Member of the Board of Councilors of The Carter Center, and a Regent Emeritus of Saint Mary's College. She holds an Advanced Computer Security Professional Credential from Stanford, where she also completed both an Executive Program for Philanthropy Leaders, and a rigorous chaplaincy training program. She also has years of experience teaching at the graduate and undergraduate levels on a variety of subjects in management, statistics, and computer science, and has lectured worldwide on social entrepreneurship.
