Gary Solon is Eller Professor of Economics at the University of Arizona. He is co-leader of the social mobility research group at the Stanford Center on Poverty and Inequality, a research associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research, and a fellow of the Society of Labor Economists. His influential research includes studies of the intergenerational transmission of socioeconomic status, earnings dynamics over the life cycle, the behavior of labor markets over recessions and expansions, and microeconometric methods.
